For our R&D team in Dendermonde, we are looking for a Material Engineering Assistant.
Material Engineering Assistant
As a Material (and Adhesive) Engineering Assistant, you will play a crucial role in driving innovation in our electro-acoustic products, supporting material development, and helping shape the future of sound. You will be a key player in the development and implementation of new technologies and adhesive solutions while collaborating across multiple teams to ensure excellence in quality, safety, and efficiency.
Your Responsibilities:
- Innovate and Develop: Collaborate with our Material Engineers on cutting-edge product development for premium automotive speakers and sound systems. Scout the market for competitive solutions and contribute your expertise to the innovation process.
- Hands-On Lab Experiments: Set up, execute, and refine world-class laboratory experiments, striving to improve testing methods, product quality, and manufacturing processes.
- Solve and Support: Join multidisciplinary teams to address any materials- or adhesives-related production challenges, helping to maintain our leadership in quality, safety, and cost efficiency.
- Drive Continuous Improvement: Research and introduce new technologies while enhancing existing processes, positioning PSS as a market leader in material engineering.

Qualifications and skills
- Educational background in chemistry or equivalent experience
- A proactive team player with a positive attitude and passion for excellence
- Excellent time management and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Proven ability to handle multiple tasks with precision and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and tracking skills
- Experience in any of the following would be a plus:
- Polymers and polymer compounds (plastics)
- Material analysis and composition detection techniques
- Adhesives and adhesive processing
- Metals, rubbers, or foams
- IMDS knowledge
- Languages: Proficiency in written and spoken English is essential.
- Personality: You’re independent, creative, and solution oriented. You take initiative and thrive when given responsibility, bringing fresh ideas to the table.
